Prospective Cadets
Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps provides leadership training and an aerospace science program for high school students. Students who enroll in the program are offered a wide variety of curricular and co-curricular activities. The program explores the historic and scientific aspects of aerospace technology and teaches high school students self-reliance, self-discipline, and other characteristics found in good leaders. AFJROTC is open to 9th-12th grade students who are citizens of the United States. The program is not a recruiting tool for the military services and those students who participate in AFJROTC do not incur any obligation to the Air Force.
The objectives of the program are to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship and life skills, promote community service, instill a sense responsibility, and develop character and self-discipline through education based Air Force’s core values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence In All We Do.

Other Activities AFJROTC Offers

Cadets are encouraged to participate in AFJROTC's annual overnight trip, air shows, and field trips. These visits are intended to encourage students to pursue Aerospace as a passion or career while also exposing them to new experiences. Cadets can also use these travels to form bonds and friendships with other cadets in the Corps.
Am I required to join the military after high school if I take this class?

There is no obligation to join the service; in fact, most cadets do not go into the military. For those who do go into the military, AFJROTC provides higher starting rank and up to two semesters of college level ROTC credit.

AFJROTC cadets who choose to continue their education may receive special consideration for AFJROTC scholarships.
